Stephan A. Stromberg

may 21, 1945 – april 30, 2024

Stephan A. Stromberg

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Stephan A. Stromberg. A loving husband, devoted father, and cherished grandfather, Stephan departed from this world on April 30, 2024. Stephan was born on May 21, 1945, to Albert and Maria Stromberg of Cincinnati where he lived his whole life.

Stephan is survived by his beloved wife Kathleen of 55 years, his sons Matthew (Kris), Mark (Stephanie), David (Carmen), and cherished grandchildren Elise (Denver) Landwehr, Aiden, Brennan, Ashton, Gavin, Ella, and Madelyn.

Stephan was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Maria Stromberg, his siblings Marilyn Bodkin, Helen Roick, and Constance Caldwell. He is survived by his sister, Gretchen Ball.

A proud veteran of the United States Army, Stephan served his country with valor during the Vietnam War, where he bravely fought with the 4th Cavalry, 1st Infantry Division (Big Red One) from 1966 to 1967. For his exceptional service, he was honored with the Bronze Star Medal, a testament to his courage and commitment to his fellow soldiers.

Stephan’s dedication extended beyond his military service. He obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in management from the University of Cincinnati and enjoyed a successful 35-year career in Information Technology, culminating in his retirement from BAE Systems Vehicle Armoring in Fairfield, OH.

Stephan was a committed member of Northern Hills Christian Church for more than 55 years, serving in many roles. He served his Lord and Savior not out of duty, but out of thankfulness for what Jesus did for him. The word ‘Salt’ described him best. Many never knew how much he did for the Church as he would quietly complete the task when it presented itself. He was always ‘about his Father’s business.’

Stephan had a green thumb and liked to watch nature grow. He always had a small nursery of new trees being cultivated by the garage and many a summer evening he could be seen strolling in the back yard “talking to the trees” and fine-tuning his lawn. He was also a renowned distributor of rides on the tractor to his grandchildren.

A memorial service in honor of Stephan’s remarkable life will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2024, at Northern Hills Christian Church, 9470 Winton Road, 45231 with visitation at 10:30 am, and memorial service at 12:00 pm. A private inurnment will take place at the family’s convenience.

Flowers may be sent by Osterbrock Florist (513) 541-4304 or in lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Stephan’s life to Northern Hills Christian Church.
