Obituary via Frederick Funeral Home

With heavy hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of Susanne “Sue” C. (nee Muenchen) Menke on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at the age of 90. Sue, a loving mother, cherished grandmother, and dedicated community member, leaves a legacy of warmth and compassion that will be remembered by all who knew her.

Sue is now reunited in heaven with her beloved husband, the late H. Ronald Menke, together they shared a lifetime of love and partnership and raised a large and caring family. Sue was the devoted mother of late Mark (Barb) Menke, Diana (Dave) Coogan, Elizabeth (Tom) Ralston, Ron (Monica) Menke, Donna Menke, Mary (Chuck) Zwick, and David (Teri) Menke. She was a proud grandmother of Sam (Ashley) Coogan, Kyle (Julia) Coogan, Cori (Scotty) Parker, Karlena (Anthony) Meiser, Tori Ralston, Ashley (Zach) Menke-Skidmore, Brooke Freibert, Tara Menke, Jacob Zwick, Lily Zwick, Emma Menke and Easton Menke. As well as a cherished great-grandmother of Emerson, Callahan, Rynne, Clara, Raina, Charlie, Maddox, Cooper, Lucas, Samuel, Julian and Lukas. She was also a dear sister of John Muenchen, JoAnn Doerr, Paul Muenchen, late Bill Muenchen, late Bob Muenchen, late Don Muenchen, late Larry Muenchen, late Ginny Dilworth and late Mary Giltz. Sue will forever hold a special place in the hearts of her family, and her memory will live on through stories filled with love and laughter.

A faithful and devoted Catholic, Sue found great comfort in her faith. For over 50 years, she was an active member of St. Ann Catholic Church. Here, she not only participated in the life of the church but transformed it with her kindness and dedication. Sue’s compassion knew no bounds; as she served on the bereavement committee, providing solace and support to grieving families, and ensured that no one faced their sorrows alone. In her pursuit to uplift others, Sue founded the LIGHT program, a vital ministry dedicated to serving the elderly in the Groesbeck community. Through her tireless efforts and selfless spirit, she created a legacy that will resonate in the hearts of those she touched for generations to come.

As we reflect on her life, we celebrate the many memories that Sue created with her family and friends. She had a special knack for making everyone feel loved and valued, often gathering her loved ones for holiday feasts filled with laughter and stories. Her gentle spirit and unwavering faith will remain in our hearts as a guiding light.

Visitation will take place at Frederick Funeral Home, located at 2553 Banning Rd., on Thursday, July 9, 2026 from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects and share in the fond memories of Sue’s beautiful life.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Ann Church, 2900 W. Galbraith Rd., on Friday, July 10, at 10:15 AM.
