On August 18, 2024, a beautiful candle went out on this earth and placed another Angel to watch over us. Thelma Murphy, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away at the age of 93. She was born on January 8, 1931, in Strunk, Kentucky to Estil and Mary Estelle (West) Greene. Thelma married Ralph Murphy and they were blessed with one daughter, Debby.
Thelma worked for Kroger for many years, and then she and her husband Ralph started Murphy Commercial Cleaning, Thelma loved being outdoors and enjoyed gardening and fishing. Indoors she was cooking up a delicious meal with fresh vegetables from her garden or curled up reading a book. Thelma also enjoyed traveling with family and friends across the country.
Thelma was preceded in death by her beloved husband Ralph Murphy; brothers: Raymond Greene and Ralph Greene; sister-in-law: Elsie Greene; brother-in-law: Carl Martin; Betty Greene; sister-in-law, in-laws: Sam and Eileen Murphy, Chester and Jewell Murphy.
Those left to carry on Thelma’s legacy of love are her daughter and favorite Son-in-law: Debby (Dave) Mossburger; cherished grandchildren: Dan (Jennifer) Mossburger, Deanna (Ryan) Samuels; great-grandchildren: Maggie & Max Mossburger and Griffin Samuels; siblings: Dorsey Greene and Ruthi Martin; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Harrison Ave. Baptist Church, 1125 Harrison Ave, Harrison, OH 45030, on Monday August 26, 2024, from 9:30 am until the time of the funeral service at 10:30 am with Dr. Mark Wash officiating. Burial to follow at Arlington Memorial Gardens.
