Theresa Marie Stumpf

may 15, 1958 – june 19, 2025

Theresa Marie Stumpf

Theresa “Terri” M. Stumpf, 67, of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Stuart, Florida, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on June 19, 2025. She was born on May 15, 1958, in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Terri was the cherished daughter of the late Joe and Dee Schwetschenau, a devoted wife to Rick, and a loving mother to Philip, Kaydee, and her beloved fur baby, Baron. She was a caring sister to Linda, Mark, Tym, Tom, and Michael, and a deeply loved sister-in-law. She was also a treasured aunt, great aunt, cousin, and friend to many.

A dedicated caregiver, Terri graduated from Good Samaritan Hospital’s nursing program and later earned her Master’s in Oncology Nursing from Duke University. Throughout her career as a registered nurse and nurse educator, she brought compassion, expertise, and strength to her students, every patient and family.

Terri was kind, loving, intelligent, strong, brave, and passionate — a true leader who wrote everything down and never missed the chance to send a postcard. She found joy in the world around her: marveling at the ocean, lighthouses, and sea turtles, collecting sea glass, and embracing every new adventure. She loved to travel, plan meaningful trips, and explore new places — including many national parks in recent years.

Above all, Terri made everyone who crossed her path feel welcomed and loved. She was someone you could always call — and count on.

A celebration of Terri’s life will be held on Friday, June 27, 2025, at The Arlington Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 2155 Compton Road, Cincinnati, OH 45231 (follow the blue line upon entering the memorial park).

  • Inurnment: 12:00 PM at the Terrace on 23rd
  • Reception: 1:00 PM at Pebble Creek Golf Course Restaurant and Event Center, 9799 Prechtel Road, Cincinnati, OH 45252

Her warmth, wisdom, and devotion will live on — in every lighthouse that shines, every gentle ocean breeze, and every heart lucky enough to have been loved by her.
She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered always.

“To the Stumpf and Schwetschenau Families; We were so very sorry to hear of Theresa’s passing on June 19th. She always took such an interest in speaking with you, wanting to know about your life, and taking the time to care. This was especially so when she visited with my elderly mother, who was probably waiting for her when she got to the gates of Heaven, so she could make Theresa feel as comfortable and loved as she always made my Mom feel. Heaven indeed gained another special angel. With love and sympathies, Robbie & Ken Emert, On behalf of the Simpson Family”

“Terri, she and I became inseparable in 1973 when she and her family moved back home to Cincinnati! It was fate living by Grandma Hoffman! There isn’t a childhood memory without her. She was the epitome of “best friend” then which continued her entire life. We chose her lovingly as our Maid of Honor so many, many years ago; she glorified the title throughout the rest of her days. I cherish her, the memories we made, the love of family we both prioritize, and the travel she shared and adored. Our deepest sympathy to all of you. Sending love across the miles to The Stumpf and The Schwetschenau Families. Love, Peg and Rick Reardon”

“Dear Rick, Kaydee, and Phillip, Our deepest condolences for your loss. It is with profound sadness that we say goodbye to our dear Terri. For 28 years, she wasn’t just a friend; she was family. Terri had an extraordinary gift for making everyone feel welcome and loved. Knowing we didn’t have family nearby, she would open her home and her heart to us for every gathering, especially Thanksgiving, ensuring we always had a place at the table. Her boundless generosity and inclusive spirit created countless cherished memories that we will hold dear forever. She brought so much warmth, joy, and a true sense of belonging into our lives. We will miss her deeply, but her legacy of love and kindness will live on in all who were fortunate enough to know her.”

“Terri and I have been friends for almost 30 years and I have had the honor and pleasure to raise my children with her. She was the truest of friends. She was there for the good times and the bad times and always the most caring and warm individual. She always took the time to find out how everything was in everyone’s lives, literally up until the end of her life. She is one of the strongest and most genuine people I’ve ever met. She will be greatly missed. A true angel. Rick, Philip & Kaydee- I send you my love and prayers. You had the best of the best and I hope your memories in the love that you all shared bring you comfort during this difficult time. Mary Hoffman”

“Deepest sympathies to Terri’s family! We worked together in oncology while she was getting her MSN @Duke. She was so thoughtful, compassionate and caring to everyone she met. We were instantly friends and colleagues. We kept up with our annual Christmas cards and she stopped and visited me on a few of her Durham drive through with family and her dog! The world has lost a truly special person and for those of us who loved her she will forever be in our hearts. It looks like she passed on my birthday June 19th, I will honor her forever on that day!”
