Thomas Edward Summe

July, 6, 1961 – December 24, 2022

Thomas Edward Summe

Thomas Edward Summe, age 61, passed away on December 24, 2022, surrounded by family.

Tom was born in Mt. Healthy, Cincinnati, OH to Eugene and Ruthie Summe. After graduating from Roger Bacon High School (1979), he worked at Evers Steel Construction (for 43 years) as a Union Crane Operator (for 36 years). Thomas married Carrie Blum on July 4, 1986, in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Tom was a devoted father, a loving husband, who cherished his friends and family deeply. Tom had a passion for staying busy. He was always quick to lend a helping hand, especially when it came to housing rehabilitation. In retirement, he enjoyed golfing (particularly with Chad & Craig), his Thursday night league and the warm Siesta Key weather. Most recently, Tom had renewed his teenage interest for vintage cars, by purchasing a 1964 Corvette with his sons. When Tom had spare time, he loved a good puzzle and researching, “THE TRUCK.” But most of all, he loved being with Carrie.

Tom is survived by his wife of 36 years, Carrie Summe, sons, Chad Summe, Craig Summe, sisters, Gina (Chip) Summe-Schneider, Kathy Summe, nieces and nephews, Brian Schneider, Ben Schneider, Kelli (Andrew) Bush, Kale (Julie) Blum, Danielle (Sean) Herlihy, Christie Cooper, mother-in-law, Joy Blum-Packer(Ronald Packer), brother-in-law, Kurt (Kim) Blum, and many extended relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Ruthie Summe, father-in-law, Ronald Blum and brother-in-law, Mark Blum.
