Thomas Gerald Brougham

Thomas Gerald Brougham, beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, passed away on January 18, 2026, at the age of 78. Born on August 22, 1947, in Cincinnati, Ohio, Thomas lived his entire life in the Greater Cincinnati area, where he left an indelible mark on the hearts of many through his dedication to education and his love for family.

Thomas earned a Master’s Degree and devoted his career to education, not only as a college advisor but also in various teaching roles, including his time as a principal. His passion for learning was only matched by his desire to inspire others, empowering countless students to pursue their own academic journeys. His penchant for history led him to share captivating stories about his family legacy, and he found joy in passing down tales to his children and grandchildren, fostering a deep appreciation for their heritage.

An outdoor enthusiast, Thomas cherished the beauty of nature through canoeing and camping, often reliving fond memories of travels to New England and spending time on his grandfather’s farm. He had a profound appreciation for the Cincinnati Reds, a love for classic Western movies, and a talent for calligraphy, showcasing the many facets of a life well-lived. Thomas also had a love for classic cars. His adventurous spirit extended beyond personal interests, as he was a founding member of the Knights of the Golden Trail at the Loveland Castle.

Thomas is survived by his loving children Rob (Anita) Brougham, Laurie Brougham, Jon (Tina) Brougham, Andy (JoAnna) Brougham, and Tommy (Jacquie) Brougham. He also leaves behind his cherished sister Sue (Dan) Hall and a multitude of grandchildren—including Corey, Brooke, Eric (Katherin), Julia, Jack, Paige (Jesus), Emily (Isaiah), Seth, Jacob, Audrey, Claire, Benjamin—and several great-grandchildren who will carry forward his legacy.

Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, George and Vera Brougham, and his grandson, Brett.

“Mr Brougham was a special and kind person. He was a friendmost of all he was the teacher that you always remembered. Prayers for all his family and friends”

“Uncle Tom was almost always smiling and so laid back. He always showed genuine care for me and what was going on in my life and took time to hear what I had to share with loving interest. I always enjoyed listening to his stories about the old days down in KY. We both had a similar love for that place and seemed to understand each other’s feelings for it better than most. I will miss him very much. It won’t be the same without him. He was a very special part of my life and I’m grateful.”
