A DEATH
HAS OCCURRED
It is with profound sorrow that we announce that Tim Richey, age 63, passed away on Thursday, September 19, 2024. Tim died quietly and peacefully among loving family members. Tim was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Bill and Janet Richey; he will be laid to rest next to them in Arlington Memorial Gardens. Tim leaves behind his four older siblings, Toni (Richey) Pace, Kathy (Richey) Lattier, Matthew Richey, and John Richey, as well as many nieces, nephews, and very dear friends.
Tim was born on August 10, 1961 in Cincinnati, Ohio and graduated from Colerain High School. Throughout his life he was devoted to his family and to his friends. Tim could always be counted on to remember everyone’s birthday. He was the “glue” who kept family and friend connections alive. If Tim had not seen or heard from someone in too long, he would call and re-connect. He sent us copies of family photos that he came across; he was the caretaker of family photos and treasured keepsakes. He always put his best effort into being kind, thoughtful, and generous.
Tim will always be best remembered for his love of music. He especially loved “oldies” of the 70’s, and frequently won prizes for his correct answers to call-in contests on a local oldies radio station. His friends and relatives were often amused to hear his voice making requests on that station. He had a remarkable memory that enabled him to instantly recall dates of concerts, musicians’ dates of birth or death, and many other musical facts, with no need to ever use “Google.” He attended nearly 80 live concerts during his lifetime, starting with his first in 1976, when he saw Aerosmith. He saved every ticket stub and could tell us who his companions were for each one. We will never be able to think of Tim without thinking of music.
We will celebrate Tim’s life with a service and refreshments from 2:00 to 5:30 p.m. on Friday, October 4, 2024 at Friendship Baptist Church, 8580 Cheviot Road, Cincinnati, OH 45251. We invite you to visit Tim’s final resting place at a time of your choosing at the Garden of the Good Shepherd in Arlington Memorial Gardens cemetery at 2145 Compton Road, Cincinnati, OH 45231. In lieu of flowers we respectfully suggest donations to Friendship Baptist Church, 8580 Cheviot Road, Cincinnati, OH 45251 or to Hospice of Cincinnati, PO Box 633597 Cincinnati, OH 45263 or www.hospiceofcincinnati.org
