Velma Irene Carr (nee Neal), a resident of Colerain Township, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at the age of 93. She was born on August 10, 1932, to the late Sidney and Lilly (nee Strunk) Neal.

Velma was the beloved wife of the late Sherwood Carr. She was a devoted and loving mother to Ruth Ann (David) Bramlage, Brenda Lee Carr, and Judy Lynn Carr. She was a cherished grandmother to Crystal Robinson, Matthew Connolly, Lindsay Hayes, and Justin Bramlage, and a proud great-grandmother to Tyler and Olivia Robinson, and Lake, Aleathea, Talia, and Tucker Hayes.

Velma shared a special bond with her twin sister, Thelma Fisher, and was preceded in death by her siblings Lana Stacy, Ruth Shockley, Shirley Liming, Marshall “Bud” Neal, and Barbara Neal.

A faithful member of Friendship Baptist Church, Velma treasured her faith and the relationships she built through her church family. She will be remembered for her love and devotion to her family and for the many lives she touched throughout her years.

Visitation will be held at Neidhard Young Funeral Home, 7401 Hamilton Ave., Mt. Healthy, on Wednesday, May 20, 2026 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of funeral service at 12:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Arlington Memorial Gardens.
