Vitt Stermer & Anderson Funeral Home is assisting the Family

Obituary via Vitt Stermer & Anderson Funeral Home

Bill was born on May 15, 1943, to Marion and Opal Mae Bradley and sister Carol. Bill’s mother passed away four days after giving birth. Bill’s sister was sent to be with family but being a sickly baby, Bill was placed in The Children’s Home where he was in and out of hospitals and foster homes until finding his adoptive parents—William and Kittie Eberhardt. Bill was given a happy childhood living in Mt. Healthy, OH. Bill found his sister, Carol, later in life after being separated. They were able to reunite and introduce their families.

Bill married Joyce McCormick of Mt. Healthy, OH in 1964 and moved to Groesbeck, OH. They had two daughters (Rosanne & Cathy). After 16 years of marriage, Bill and Joyce divorced.

A few years later, Bill met Carmen Vogt (Hopper) and were married in 1985. They lived in Forest Park before moving to Sidney, OH. where they lived for more than 30 years. Carmen passed away in August of 2019. Carmen and Bill were married for 35 years.

After Carmen’s passing, Bill experienced medical emergencies requiring him to return to Cincinnati in March of 2021. After nearly three months in intensive care and rehab facilities, Bill gained independence at Traditions of North Bend. Bill was now challenged with memory loss and limited mobility. For the next year Bill regained strength and made significant progress. In November of 2022, Bill fell and moved again to intensive care and rehab facilities. His health declined further at this point and lead to his passing on February 6, 2023.

Bill was a hard worker who worked his way from Stock Boy to Manager at Becker’s Drug Store in Groesbeck before moving on to Warehouse Paperback Book Sales at JL Marshall News Company in Cincinnati then Amos Press in Sidney, OH. Bill had many other small jobs, including his last job being a custodian of his church First Baptist in Sidney, OH. Bill loved dogs, collecting trucks, fishing, and spending time with family.

Bill leaves behind Daughter Rosanne (Jon, Cindy, and Jessica Miller) and Daughter Cathy (Mark and Hannah Petersman). Bill had three stepchildren from his marriage with Carmen [Steve (deceased), Patti and Missy], four grandchildren [Cassie (James), Cory, Sara, and Jay] and great-grandchildren (Brianna, James, Evelyn, Easton and Alivia). Bill’s dogs, Maggie and Johnny also found loving homes while he was in the hospital.
