Wilma Jean Watson, age 93, of Ellenton, Florida, passed away on May 21, 2024. She was born on July 18, 1930, in Ripley, Ohio. When she was young, her family moved to Norwood, Ohio. Jean attended the Norwood High School, where she met Donald Watson, her husband. They lived all of their married lives in Norwood, before moving to Ellenton, Florida, in 2019. 

Don and Jean were married for 76 years! They have 4 children: Steve and his wife Kay, residing in Florida; Paul and his wife Patricia, residing in Florida; Jana and her husband Ken, residing in Ohio; and Rusty and his wife Kim, residing in Texas. She is survived by 9 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. 

Unashamedly Jean loved the Lord Jesus Christ and sought to live her life in such a way as to always please God. She was a faithful member of the Norwood Baptist Church for decades. She enjoyed serving the Lord in whatever capacity she could. She especially enjoyed singing in the church choir.

She was a devoted wife and mother. When it came to standing behind and standing up for her husband and her children, she was like a rock – always there, bold and supportive. She was a tender, kind and considerate woman, who desired the best for all those she met. This was manifested in the good that she sought to do to each one of them. Most of all, she desired that all those she knew would come to saving faith in her beloved Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ. 

Jean Watson will be greatly missed! But it is comforting to know that she is now in heaven enjoying being in the presence of Christ Jesus, who loved her and gave Himself for her! She is forever living in the place that God has been preparing for her. She and her beloved husband, Don, are enjoying the gift of eternal life that the triune God of the Bible has graciously given to each of them. 

Family will receive guests on Friday, June 7, 2024 at Vorhis & Ryan Funeral Home, 5501 Montgomery Rd., Norwood, OH 45212 from 10 AM until time of service at 10:30 AM. Jean will be laid to rest in the Arlington Memorial Gardens located at 2145 Compton Road in Cincinnati, Ohio, on June 7, 2024.
