SAMS, Yvonne L (nee Castor), Beloved wife of the late William J. Sams and daughter of the late Voris and Dorothy Castor. Dear mother of Darrell (Karen) Sams, Lisa (David) Wong, and David (Donna) Sams. Beloved Grandmother of Sara, Danielle, Kelly, Adam, Christopher, Elizabeth and Justin. Also survived by 19 great grandchildren. Passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on Friday, December 6, 2024, at the age of 93.

 Yvonne Louise Castor was born on November 17, 1931 in Hamilton, Ohio. Her family eventually moved to St. Bernard, Ohio, where she would meet the love of her life and future husband, Bill Sams, at St. Bernard High School. Yvonne and Bill were married on January 2, 1954 at Wilson Memorial Presbyterian Church, also in St. Bernard. In 1955 they started their family of three children. Yvonne was a devoted mother, happily volunteering and participating in her children’s various activities. Both she and Bill were very active in the St. Bernard Titan Athletic Booster organization for many years.

 Yvonne was an avid bowler, enjoyed playing cards, working jigsaw puzzles, doing the daily Enquirer crossword puzzle, and loved to watch tennis matches. One of her greatest joys was sitting on her front porch where she loved visiting with her dear neighbors. Yvonne Sams was loved by everyone who knew her.

 Family will receive friends at Hodapp Funeral Home, 6041 Hamilton Ave, College Hill, Thursday, December 12, 2024 from 10:30 a.m. until the time of funeral service at 12:30 p.m

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to EJ’s Promise Inc. 117 Stearns Ave. Wyoming, OH 45215.  All friends are invited to Clovernook Country Club, 2035 W Galbraith Rd, 45239, for a Celebration of Life luncheon immediately following service at funeral home.
