Zaitor Eva (Gibson) Evans-South was born in Lexington, Kentucky, December 16, 1931
(October 11, 1932).
She grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio. She graduated in 1951 from East Vocational High and after having all her children and raising grandchildren, she went back to school to become a Certified Nurses Aid.
She grew up in Bible Way Church of Christ and later became a dedicated member at New Mission Missionary Baptist Church for over 25 years. She served as a missionary and evangelist spreading the love of Christ. She served her family and the community, providing food and a place to stay when in need.
Zaitor was preceded in death by her parents; Clark C. and Jessie Gibson. Her siblings
Wiona Smith, Himinna Green, and Clark B. Gibson; Her husband of 18 years, Abraham
Evans Sr.; her daughter Brenda Napier; her son James Evans; and her adopted son
Bootsy.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories 5 children; Patricia Evans,
Abraham Evans Jr., Debora Moore (caregiver), Jessie Evans, and Arthur Evans. 29
grandchildren (helped raise 8); 45 great-grandchildren (helped raise 5); 18
great-great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews.
She will be missed by many, but her legacy will live on with her example of love through Christ.
