Sophia is fulfilling her longtime aspiration to serve her community through death care. She is a licensed Funeral Director, Embalmer, and Crematory Operator. At 14 years old her family traveled to Cincinnati from Columbus, Ohio to visit the nation’s oldest mortuary college, per her request. She fell in love with the curriculum from religion and public speaking to chemistry and restorative arts. In 2018 Sophia graduated from the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science with highest honors.
Upon starting her career she spent the majority of her time with families at their time of need. After observing through work and personally experiencing the devastating effects of losing a loved one unexpectedly, Sophia changed her direction. She understands the power behind directives and setting a plan in place. Discussing final wishes has become a tremendous freedom logistically for her family. Sophia is intrinsically rewarded and thrives off of the lasting relationships that she is able to build with Arlington’s families.
Sophia and her husband Charles receive joy in volunteering together. She has been a member of the board at Brighton Center Inc. for the last four years and is happy with the additional community she has been adopted into in Northern KY. Sophia is a member of the Red Hat Society- Queen City Crimson Belles. Other ways that she enjoys her time are attending sporting events, hosting poker runs, or tent camping with their four children and biggest baby, Polly- the Bernese Mountain Dog.
