Obituary via Frederick Funeral Home

With heavy hearts yet grateful spirits, we celebrate the life of Carol Zins (nee Schoenlaub), who peacefully departed this world on September 18, 2025, at the age of 88. Born on July 4, 1937, Carol was a radiant beacon of love and joy, adored by family and friends alike.

As the beloved wife of the late Robert “Bob” Zins, Carol embraced motherhood with unparalleled devotion, leaving behind her cherished daughter Ellen Boggess and her son Nick (Jennifer) Zins. She was also the proud grandmother of Kayla, KaraLee, Brynn, Isabelle, Adron, and Brooks, who brought immeasurable joy to her life. Carol shared in the lives of many loving nieces and nephews, whose fond memories of her will be treasured forever.

She was preceded in death by her son, Daniel Robert Zins, and her beloved sister, Joan (late Don) Murphy. Carol is survived by her brother Jack (late Janet) Schoenlaub, a reminder of her enduring family bonds.

Carol’s passions were as vibrant as her spirit. She loved to engage in games with her friends like Bridge, Shanghai, and Solitaire, and she eagerly tackled Wordle puzzles every day. She still had friends from grade school and her bridge foursome that her son Nick named the “Fab Four”. A skilled bowler, it was at the bowling alley where she first met her beloved husband. Travel was another joy for Carol, who explored the beauty of the nation with her family by her side. Above all, family was her greatest treasure, and she cultivated those relationships with love and mindfulness.

We invite all who knew and loved Carol to join us in honoring her remarkable life. A Mass celebrating her life will be held at St. Bartholomew Church on Friday, September 26, 2025, at 11:00 AM, preceded by a visitation at the church starting at 10:00 AM. Let us gather to share in the joyful memories of Carol, a remarkable woman whose legacy of love continues to inspire us all.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be made in Carol’s memory to, Matthew 25, 11083 Kenwood Rd Blue Ash, OH 45242 or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Pl. Memphis, TN 38105 reflecting her generous spirit and love for helping others. Special condolences may be expressed at frederickfh.com Forever in our hearts, Carol’s laughter and warmth will continue to shine brightly in our memories.
