Mary Leeta Blizzard Auxier

     Mary Leeta Blizzard Auxier passed away peacefully on May 22, 2026 at the age of 100 years in St. Augustine Florida. She was the daughter of Culpepper and Mary Leeta Evans Brasington. She was the youngest of two brothers, Eugene and Ralph, and one sister, Elizabeth. She grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio in the Hartwell neighborhood. She later attended high school at Mount Saint Joseph and graduated in 1943.

     She is survived by three children: Michael Blizzard, Richard Blizzard II and Mary Leeta (Lee) Blizzard Dietz; two daughters-in-law: Nancy Blizzard and Karen Blizzard; three grandchildren: Emily Dietz, Jessica Bosse and Robert Blizzard plus three great grandchildren: Maya Blizzard, Eli Blizzard and Rayna Bosse, along with quite a number of nieces and nephews.


     In 1943 she married Richard Blizzard. With WW2 going on, her new husband was quickly sent to North Africa for the duration of WW2 serving in the Army Air Forces. After the war, they lived in Wyoming, Ohio and later moved to the Greenhills area where they raised their children and lived happily for many years. They were married for 58 years when Richard passed. In 2002 Mary married Bud Auxier. They were married for 3 years until his passing. She continued to live at Maple Knoll Village for more than 20 years. During her working years she was a medical transcriptionist for Holmes Hospital and Wellington Orthopedics.

     She was Baptized at Wyoming Baptist Church and remained a member until her death. In her younger years she taught Sunday School and was a Deacon at Wyoming Baptist Church. She also enjoyed designing the flower arrangements for the Sunday Services. She cherished her many friendships in the congregation.


     Mary Leeta also enjoyed garden club and other church activities. She belonged to the Federated Garden Clubs of Cincinnati and Garden Club of Ohio, including Wyoming and Clovernook. She became a Master Judge over the years and judged flower shows around Cincinnati.

     A Celebration of Life will be held on June 20th at 11 am with the Memorial Reception to follow at the Wyoming Baptist Church located at 170 Burns Ave.,  Cincinnati, Ohio 45215.

     For those who would like to attend, the burial will be on June 22nd at Arlington Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Mount Healthy, Ohio at 1 pm. Meet at the “Gathering Area” in Arlington Memorial Gardens at 12:45 pm. We will then proceed to the grave site.
