In loving memory of Bruce Allen Smith, a beloved father, grandfather, and friend, who peacefully passed away on May 30, 2026, in Dayton, Ohio. Born in Middletown, Ohio, Bruce was a man whose warmth and humor touched the lives of countless individuals throughout his journey and he will be missed dearly.
Bruce is the loving father of the late Bruce (Becky) Smith II and Heather (nee Smith) Frisby, who will forever treasure the memories of their father’s gentle spirit and unwavering love. He was a grandfather to Kallista Smith, Amber (Matt) Willinger, and Bruce William Smith, and great-grandfather to Michael, Isaiah, and Rebecca Willinger. He was a dear brother of Paul Edward (late Gerry) Smith, Thomas (late Barb) Smith, Robert (Julia) Smith, Lovena (late Boots) Vaughn and David (Diane) Smith. The legacy of his love will continue through his family, which also includes many loving nieces, nephews, and relatives who hold him dear in their hearts.
Reunited in peace with his parents, Paul and Pauline (nee Thompson) Smith, and his siblings; Mike (Theresa) Smith, Timmy (Lindy) Smith, and Betty (Rich) Ferguson. Bruce will continue to live on in the cherished memories of all who had the pleasure to know him.
Professionally, Bruce dedicated his skills as a maintenance worker at Armco, where he first honed his skills. His unwavering commitment to excellence then led him to California, where he served as an electrician at Fort Ord. After spending time in California, he returned to his roots in Ohio, where he continued his dedicated work in maintenance for Fluor Fernald, where his craftsmanship and keen eye for detail helped keep the environment safe and functional for all. Known for being good with his hands, Bruce had a remarkable talent for fixing and creating, which extended beyond his professional life into a passion for painting and drawing. His artistic soul brought color and life to those around him, capturing the creativity that defined him.
In honor of Bruce’s remarkable life, a visitation will be held at Frederick Funeral Home, located at 2553 Banning Road, Cincinnati, OH 45239, on Friday, June 12, 2026, from 10:00 AM until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 AM. His family invites all who knew and loved Bruce to join them in celebrating his life and legacy. As we gather to share our memories, we will reflect on the profound impact he had on each of us, ensuring that his legacy of love, laughter, and resilience continues to shine brightly.
