It is with deep sadness and profound gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Paul R. Clingerman Sr., who left this world peacefully on June 18, 2026, at the age of 97. Born on January 8, 1929, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to LeeRoy Clingerman and Ethel (nee Nauglebaugh) Clingerman, Paul was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend.

Paul’s warmth and kindness knew no bounds. He and his beloved wife, Erma ( nee Keel) Clingerman, raised their family with love and compassion. Their home was a sanctuary for many, as Paul and Erma opened their doors to single mothers in need, providing support and encouragement during difficult times. Paul was proud to serve as a Senior Meter Man for CG&E Gas Company, dedicating many years of his life to his work and those he served.

An active member of the Nazarene Church in Harrison, Paul held numerous roles, including Trustee, worship leader, and teacher. His contributions to the church enriched the lives of many, and his belief that happiness is a decision resonated deeply with all who knew him. Paul had a special talent for connecting with children, always ready with a smile and a Dum Dum sucker to brighten their day. His hugs were legendary, conveying a love that could lift spirits and heal hearts.

Paul is survived by his cherished children, Paul R. Clingerman Jr. and Brenda Randall, as well as his adored grandchildren: Tara (Brian) Hensel, Erin (Kent) Laramore, Brian Randall, and Kari (Jeremy) Snelling. He leaves behind his loving great-grandchildren: Brianna (Noah) Randolph, Emma F. Hensel, Olivia J. Hensel, and Alexis F. Randall, along with many nieces and nephews who will carry forward his legacy of love.

Paul was preceded in death by his precious wife, Erma, in 2015; his son-in-law, Paul Randall; his parents; and his brother, William “Herschel” Clingerman.

In celebration of his remarkable life, visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, from 5 PM to 7 PM, and funeral will be held on Thursday, June 25, 2026, at 11 AM. Both services will take place at the Church of the Nazarene, located at 249 Sunset Avenue, Harrison, OH.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Nazarene Missions through the funeral home, where a representative will be available to accept donations during the visitation and funeral. As we gather to honor Paul’s extraordinary life, let us remember the love and joy he brought into our lives and strive to embody his spirit of generosity and kindness.
