Rodney H. Harding

december 2, 1946 – september 27, 2026

Rodney H. Harding

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Rodney H. Harding, who departed this world on September 27, 2026. Born on December 2, 1946, in Cincinnati, Ohio, Rodney was a devoted family man, cherished husband, and faithful friend who lived life to the fullest.

Rodney’s journey began in Cincinnati, where his love of airplanes took flight during his 24 years as a ramp worker for Delta Air Lines. He was better known to his coworkers as “Hot Rod.” His dedication to his work was matched only by his devotion to his family. A proud Air Force veteran, Rodney found his greatest joy in sharing life with his wonderful wife, Linda, who was blessed to call him her “rock” throughout their 54 glorious years of marriage. Together, they created a lifetime of cherished memories, including unforgettable family trips to Anna Maria Island, Alaska, Myrtle Beach, and Hawaii.

Rodney lived simply but had a wealth of knowledge. He was known for his love of reading, his expertise in the kitchen, his green thumb in the garden, and his passion for classic cars and sports. His family will also fondly remember him as the “Refrigerator King,” a title he lovingly earned for rearranging the family refrigerator to his liking. Rodney beamed with pride at every family gathering, especially while watching his grandchildren showcase their talents and enjoy life’s special moments.

Rodney is survived by his wife, Linda; his children, Craig (Lexie) Harding, and Angela (Anthony) Jaspers; his grandchildren, Chase, Cate, Ashton, Patryk, Remi, Dalton, and Harper; and his brother Jerry (Saundra) Harding.

To honor Rodney’s strong and devoted spirit, services will be held on Friday, October 9, 2026, at Arlington Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. Family and friends are invited to attend visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m., followed by a memorial service at noon to celebrate Rodney’s life, laughter, and legacy. After the service, a scattering ceremony will be held in his memory.

We invite all who knew Rodney to come together, share stories, exchange laughter, and celebrate the incredible life of a man who loved deeply and lived freely. Rodney H. Harding will be missed profoundly, but his spirit will forever resonate in the hearts of those who loved him.

Rodney was preceded in death by his son, Troy J. Harding; his parents, James and Lucille Harding; and his siblings, Joe Harding, Jim Harding, Clara Mae Harding, and James (J.L.) Harding.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library https://imaginationlibrary.com/.
