Recently, we received valuable feedback from our Memorial Day Weekend surveys regarding concerns about tall grass in some of our gardens. We appreciate this feedback immensely, allowing us to address any concerns and continually improve our services.
Grass Maintenance at Arlington
First and foremost, we want to assure all our visitors that every garden within our sprawling 165-acre park is mowed at least once weekly. Additionally, once we complete a full rotation, we begin the cycle again, meaning some gardens are mowed twice weekly. This proactive approach ensures that our grounds remain tidy and inviting for all who visit.
Mowing Schedule
It’s important to note that we adhere to a strict mowing schedule regardless of weather conditions. Rain or shine, our dedicated Grounds Team is committed to maintaining the beauty of Arlington Memorial Gardens. However, despite our best efforts, there may be instances where the grass appears longer than expected between mowing’s.
Promoting Healthier Turf
One crucial factor to consider is our mower decks are set at 3 inches to promote healthier turf. This deliberate choice reduces stress on the grass, particularly as temperatures soar during the summer. While this approach may result in a slightly longer appearance between mowings, it ultimately contributes to our grounds’ long-term health and vitality.
