Anita “Beth” Baptiste, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away on October 24, 2024, in Cincinnati, Ohio. Born on December 13, 1947, in Northern Kentucky, Beth led a full and active life that touched the hearts of everyone she met. She was an avid reader, played the piano, and was an outdoor enthusiast who loved nature. Her passions included playing tennis, family fishing trips to Canada and Michigan, horseback riding, skiing, and white-water rafting. She also adored her dogs: Poco, Bear, Caesar, and Dusty.
In her later years, Beth found joy in visiting Las Vegas, where she enjoyed its vibrant shows, tried her luck at gambling, and indulged in fine dining. She loved dressing up and dancing with her husband at special events.
A devoted wife of 55 years to Pedro Baptiste, Beth was a dedicated mother to her children, Robin and Peter, and a loving grandmother to her granddaughter, Andrea. Her family fondly remembers her signature meatloaf dinners, despite her modest enthusiasm for cooking. Her love for the arts and music brought her immense joy. Beth’s energetic spirit extended to her love for games, especially Dominos, which she played with her family during cherished gatherings. She was known for her big smile, contagious laughter, and competitive edge, making every moment spent with her memorable. Family was paramount to Beth, and she never missed a birthday, meticulously keeping track of every detail in her calendar. She enjoyed the company of lifelong friends, shared a passion for music by artists like Johnny Mathis, The Beatles, Elvis, and Rod Stewart, and found entertainment in shows like “Friends,” “Seinfeld,” “Cheers,” “Frasier,” and “Law and Order.”
Beth’s life will be celebrated at the Arlington Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Saturday, November 2, 2024, with a visitation starting at 9:00 a.m. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m., leading to a graveside service at Arlington Memorial Gardens in the Garden of Old Rugged Cross.
Beth will be remembered for her warmth, humor, and unwavering love for her family and friends. May her spirit live on in the cherished memories she leaves behind. She will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
