Alice J. Porter

With a heart full of love and a spirit that brought joy to all around her, Alice J. Porter, age 84, peacefully passed away on May 14, 2026, in Mason, Ohio. Born on October 6, 1941, in Cincinnati, Ohio, Alice was known for her vibrant personality and her exceptional ability to connect with family and friends.

She leaves behind a loving family, including her daughters Denise (Darryl) Morris, Gina (Victor) Boatright, and son Wes Miller; her brother John Rand and sister Jean Rozin; grandchildren Michelle (Joe) Sparto, Melissa (Jason Caudill) Payne, Danielle (Josh) Asher, Victor Boatright, and Holly Johnson; as well as great-grandchildren Cameron Finlay, Logan Asher, and Kevin Payne. Alice was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Porter, her sister, Patricia Kohl and her parents, Thomas Federer and Janet Rand. Each member of her family holds a piece of her warm spirit in their hearts.

Alice was not just a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend; she was also a cherished member of her community. Her true passion shone through her family and church. Faith was a cornerstone of Alice’s life. She was an active member of her Catholic church, where she took joy in serving her community and participating in church duties. Her strong faith and warm nature became a guiding light for those who knew her.

Alice will be fondly remembered for hosting family get-togethers, where her world-famous chili spaghetti and refreshing bourbon/amaretto slush were always the stars of the show. Family Christmas celebrations at her home were legendary, filled with love, laughter, and countless memories. Alice cherished her time traveling, having explored the beautiful landscapes of Ireland and Hawaii with her beloved husband, who she was married to for 39 wonderful years before his passing. She also shared cherished adventures out West with her granddaughter and Don.

She was a gifted interior decorator for dollhouses, a talented ceramics artist, and a passionate collector of elephants, owls, and the Little Boy Blue. Alice had a knack for playing cards, especially bridge and pinochle, bringing laughter and competition with her old friends in card club.

To celebrate Alice’s remarkable life, a visitation will be held at Arlington Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 2155 Compton Road, 45231 (follow the blue line upon entering the memorial park) on Thursday, May 21, 2026, beginning at 11:00 AM, followed by a funeral service at noon. The final placement will take place at Arlington Memorial Lakeside Mausoleum at 1:00 PM.

As we gather to honor Alice, we invite all those who loved her to join in remembering her vibrant spirit, her unwavering faith, and her boundless love for family. Alice’s legacy will continue to inspire and bring joy to those fortunate enough to have known her.
