A DEATH
HAS OCCURRED
It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Andrew Jackson Hudson Jr. known to family and friends as Jack. Jack left us on January 4, 2025, at the age of 90. Born on April 20, 1934, in Cincinnati, Ohio, he spent his life surrounded by family, friends, and the vibrant spirit of his hometown.
Jack had a remarkable career as a Senior Systems Analyst at Procter & Gamble, where he dedicated an impressive 40 years of his life. He approached every challenge with an unwavering work ethic, setting a shining example for his loved ones. But more than a professional, Jack was an extraordinary family man—devoted to his wife Lois for more than 64 years and proud of his three sons: Greg, Jay, and Chris.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents Andrew and Estella Hudson (nee Heinecke), his sister Jeannine Gerhardstein, and his brother Jerry Hudson.
A true sports enthusiast, Jack’s passion for the Reds, Bengals, Ohio State football, and UC basketball was infectious. Jack shared his love for baseball by coaching his sons’ youth baseball teams, imparting not just skills but life lessons to the children he mentored. Jack also was an avid golfer spending many joyful hours on the golf course and sharing laughs with long-time friends and his sons.
Family holidays were Jack’s favorite time of year, filled with laughter, storytelling, and the warmth of togetherness. Beyond the immediate family, he cherished his grandchildren—Beth, Jeff, Chris, Matt (Cassidie), Corey, Kyle, Sarah (Danny), and Anthony—who brought him boundless joy. He adored spending time with his great-grandchildren, Brodie, Colton, Braden, and Kenzie, always ready with a smile and a story to share.
In addition to his family pursuits, Jack was a lover of music, particularly the sounds of Sinatra, jazz, big band classics, and his eldest son’s bands. He took great pleasure in traveling, particularly to Alaska, the Rocky Mountains, Australia, and Europe, cultivating memories that would last a lifetime.
As we celebrate Jack’s remarkable life, we invite family and friends to join us to honor him. A visitation will take place on Wednesday January 8, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Arlington Memorial Gardens Lakeside Mausoleum Chapel, 2145 Compton Road, 45231 (follow the red line upon entering the memorial park) followed by a Funeral Service at 11:00 AM. A Cryptside Service will be held at 12:00 PM, with entombment taking place at the same location.
In grieving his loss, we also celebrate a life rich in love, experiences, and family values. Jack will be forever remembered for his kindness, humor, and dedication to those he loved. He believed in the importance of family, country, and living life to the fullest, and we carry that spirit forward in his memory.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you send any donation to the charity of your choice.
