Anna J. Heckinger

Mrs. Anna Jeanette Heckinger, age 98, passed away on March 22, 2021.  Jeanette, as she was known, was born on August 30, 1922, in New Boston, Ohio to Frank and Mae Liles.  She became a bookkeeper and moved to Cincinnati.  After meeting at church, Jeanette dated and married Harry Heckinger on May 27, 1948, a pilot and the love of her life who preceded her in death in 1993. 

Jeanette had two children and spent most of her life making a home. She was known as an extremely talented landscaper and for her love of all things artistic, particularly interior design and painting.  She also had a deep love of God and an interest in world religions.  She was an avid reader.

Jeanette is survived by her daughter, Mary Jo Heckinger. She is survived by a large and loving family.  Grandchildren; Jennifer, Amy (Miks Silis), Sara (Pavel Pyś), Jeff Pearson (Allison) and Brian Sweetman. Great grandchildren; August Silis, Archie Silis, and baby Pyś (due in October). She is survived by nieces and nephews: Jane Fleishaker, William Liles, Frank Liles, and Michael Liles.  Jeanette is also survived by many great nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. She will be deeply missed by those who loved her and benefitted from her encouragement and love.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother William Liles and her beloved husband of 45 years, and her devoted son; Harry D. Heckinger Jr. died in August of 2022.

Inurnment for Anna Heckinger will take place on August 22, 2022, at 11:30 at the Arlington Memorial Gardens Lakeside Mausoleum Chapel. (Follow the red line when you enter the cemetery grounds)
