Arlette Ann Kemper-Merritt

With great sadness, we announce the passing of Arlette Ann Kemper-Merritt, who departed this world on December 9, 2025. Born on April 24, 1941, in Cincinnati, Ohio, Arlette lived a life marked by dedication, creativity, and a deep love for her family and community.

Arlette proudly graduated from the University of Cincinnati, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Nuclear Medicine. She worked as a Lab Technician at Procter & Gamble for 25 years.

A devoted member of the Mt. Healthy United Methodist Church, Arlette was active in her faith community and enriched the lives of those around her. Her passion extended beyond her career; she was an avid watercolor painter, finding joy in capturing the beauty of the world around her through art. She also devoted her time to volunteering with the Hamilton County Parks and was actively involved with the Mt. Healthy Historical Society, sharing her love for history with others.

Arlette’s adventurous spirit took her on journeys around the globe, and she cherished many memories created on countless cruises. Above all, she adored her family and will be deeply missed by her children, Joyce Merritt, Richard (Nannette) Merritt, and Joseph (April) Merritt Jr., along with her beloved grandchildren, Ricky, Wesley, and Brie, and her great-grandchildren, Harlow, Koda, and Lela, as well as her beloved dog Teddy.

Arlette was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Merritt Sr., parents, Lee and Emma Kemper, sister, Carol Byrd, and brother, William Hill.

Visitation will be held on Monday, December 29th, 2025 from 10:00-11:00am at the Arlington Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 2155 Compton Road, Cincinnati, OH 45231 (Follow the BLUE line). A funeral service will follow at 11:00am with Reverend Jerome Weaver officiating. Burial will take place at 12:00pm at the Arlington Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions in honor of Arlette can be made to Queen City Hospice at https://queencityhospice.com/donate/ or to the Alzheimer’s Association at https://www.alz.org/.

Arlette’s legacy of love, creativity, and commitment to service will forever live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege to know her. She will be remembered fondly and missed dearly.
