A DEATH
HAS OCCURRED
Betty Lou (nee Litton) Kiefler, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on May 4, 2026. Born on May 15, 1939 in Pine Knot, Kentucky, Betty grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio where she lived a life filled with love, joy, and family.
Betty was defined by her strength and fierce determination – carrying herself and her family through hard times, the loss of loved ones, and the many health challenges that came her way. She was proud of her 30 years at Avon, her work in shipping and services, and of the cherished friendships formed from the workplace that lasted well beyond her retirement. Betty also loved reading and fostered that passion with her loved ones. Especially fond of romance novels, she enjoyed sharing the stories with her family and friends.
Betty cherished, above all, spending time with her family – creating precious memories with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She would lovingly make trips and outings for her family, often to places and for events she wouldn’t understand, finding delight in the happiness and fulfillment of others. This togetherness was how she loved and defined her life.
Betty is survived by her son, Charles McKinney; her daughter, Kimberly (Andrew R.) Dillman; her step-daughter, Tammie (Chuck) Compton; grandchildren, Andrew I. (Ashley) Dillman, Derek (Rebecca) Dillman, and Katherine “Katie” Dillman; step-grandchildren, Krissy (Mike) Ott, Kassie (Mike) Matulewicz; great-grandchildren, Elizabeth “Ellie” Atwell-Dillman, Lucille “Lucy” Atwell-Dillman, and Ryan Dillman; step great-grandchildren, Chase Ott, Chandler Ott, Layne Ott, Sparrow Ott, Royce Matulewicz, and Remy Matulewicz; step great-great-grandchild, Stella Ott.. She will also be missed by her nephew, Roger Gross, and nieces, Debra Napier-Ruger, Donna Jones, and Denise Schwartz. Betty was preceded in death by her husband, George Kiefler, parents, Charles and Alice (nee Anderson) Litton, and sister, Juanita (nee Litton) Napier.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 15th, 2026 from 12:30-1:30pm at the Arlington Memorial Gardens Lakeside Mausoleum Chapel, 2145 Compton Road, Cincinnati, OH 45231 (Follow the RED line). A funeral service will take place at 1:30pm. Entombment will follow at 2:30pm.
