HAS OCCURRED
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Beverly A. Heitzman on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, with family by her side, after a long and hard-fought battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. She was born in Greenhills, Ohio to Carl and Joyce Heitzman (Abeling) on October 14, 1950. She was 75 years old.
Bev dedicated her life to her family and loved ones. She is the loving mother of Lori Riegler (Calera, Alabama), and Michelle (Rob) Goodnough (Oviedo, Florida). She is the cherished grandmother of Meredith and Joshua Riegler, and Emma and Nicholas Goodnough.
Bev is also survived by her father Carl Heitzman (Summerfield, Florida), sisters Debbie (Dennis) Brummett (Okeana, Ohio), and Carla (Michael) Mahan (Savannah, Georgia). She was much loved by her six nieces and nephews, Cara, Matt, Alaina, Steven, Sean, and Ian who affectionately called her “Aunt Buff.” Bev is also survived by ten great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Joyce Heitzman (Abeling).
Beverly was a 1968 graduate of Greenhills High School. After high school she attended Ohio State University, receiving a Bachelor Degree in Education. She also worked for many years at Cincinnati Bell. Bev enjoyed music, watching old movies especially musicals which included the family favorite “Wizard of Oz” a family tradition. She enjoyed cooking, watching Ohio State football games and crafting, especially making artificial flower arrangements for family weddings.
Beverly will be remembered for her monumental strength, dedication, compassion, and unwavering love for her family. She had a wonderful sense of humor and brought enormous joy to all who knew her. She will forever be in our hearts and deeply missed.
Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at the Arlington Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 2155 Compton Road, 45231 (follow the blue line upon entering the memorial park). Visitation at 11:00 AM with service following at 12:00 noon. Inurnment will take place on Monday, March 23, 2026 at the Arlington Memorial Gardens Lakeside Mausoleum.
