Bruce Allen Banker, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on March 6, 2025, at the age of 84. Born on November 5, 1940, in Tarrytown, NY, Bruce spent his life nurturing a deep love for both family and nature, becoming a cherished figure in the lives of all who knew him.
Bruce had a passion for the outdoors, especially enjoying time spent on the sailboat and exploring the beauty of nature. He was an avid sports enthusiast, with a special fondness for UConn Women’s Basketball, often found cheering for the team with unbridled enthusiasm. His dedication to family was unparalleled; he fully embraced the roles of husband, father, and grandfather with unwavering devotion.
A graduate of Centre College, Bruce forged a meaningful career as a lab technician in the paper products industry, dedicating many years of service to Proctor and Gamble. His contributions to his field were significant, yet his greatest legacy lies in the love and kindness he shared with his family and friends.
Bruce is survived by his beloved wife, Diane Banker; his daughter, Robin (John) Robinson; son, Eric (Tiffanie) Banker; and daughter, Laura (Nathan) Bierkan. He also leaves behind his cherished brother, Douglas (JoAnne) Banker, and a legacy of grandchildren who will forever hold his memory close: Mackenzie, Tyler, Maddi, Brayden, Lilly, Logan, Kaylee, and Ethan.
He was preceded in death by his parents Wallace and Shirley Banker.
The warmth and compassion that Bruce radiated will be fondly remembered by all whose lives he touched. His love for family and nature will forever remain an integral part of his enduring legacy.
Funeral services to honor Bruce’s life will be held on Tuesday March 11, 2025. Family and friends are invited to come together to celebrate the remarkable life of this kind soul who loved fiercely and lived fully. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hospice of Cincinnati.
Rest in peace, Bruce. Your spirit will continue to inspire those who loved you.
