Buhlan C. “Carl” Vanover, age 99, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 30, 2026.

Carl was born on November 8, 1926, in Anderson County, Kentucky, to the late Thomas and Parlena (née Worley) Vanover. He was the beloved husband of the late Sara (née Byrd) Vanover.

A devoted father, Carl is survived by his children, Linda Gayle (James) Mast, Judith L. (Russ) Turner, and Gary Allen (Venus) Vanover. He was a proud grandfather of Joseph P. (Jennifer) Mast, Elizabeth A. (Nick) Rice, Amy L. (Nick) West, Sara E. (Bryan) Lynch, Brandon C. (Emily) Vanover, Kory A. (Jess) Vanover, and Gaven L. Vanover. He was also blessed with 15 great-grandchildren.

Carl is survived by his brother-in-law, Otto H. Prewitt, and his sister-in-law, Leota Vanover. In addition to his wife Sara and parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers and sisters.

Family and friends are invited to gather on Thursday, June 4, 2026, at Neidhard Young Funeral Home, 7401 Hamilton Avenue, Mt. Healthy, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Arlington Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Hospice of Cincinnati.
