Crescent “Sis” Miller

march 31, 1931 – november 27, 2024

Crescent “Sis” Miller

Crescent “Sis” Emma Miller (nee Beiderhake) passed away on November 27, 2024, at 93 years of age. She was preceded in death by her husband Richard “Dick” Miller, her parents, Henry and Crescent Beiderhake, and her brother, Charles “Jean” Beiderhake.

She is survived by special neighbors, Roger and Angie Schwarb, whom she considered her children, and several nieces and nephews.

Sis’s death comes just 40 days after Dick’s death, with whom they shared 74 years of love and devotion.

Above all, she loved dogs and gave up a promising career to train and raise their first dog, Tippie. She said her dog was more important than her career.

In 2018, Sis and Dick donated enough money to be granted the naming rights for a major addition to an animal shelter, The League for Animal Welfare, located in Batavia, Ohio. This addition named, the Sis and Dick Miller Wellness Clinic, doubled the capacity, for holding dogs and cats and contains a unique surgical center.

Visitation will be conducted on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM, at the Arlington Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 2155 Compton Road, 45231. Services will be conducted at 11:00 AM with a burial immediately following.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Sis’s life to The League for Animal Welfare, 4193 Taylor Road, Batavia, OH or https://www.lfaw.org/.
