Obituary via Neidhard Young Funeral Home
Daniel R. Kroeger. Beloved husband of Janet (nee Ford) Kroeger for 49 years. Dear father of Andrew (Cindy) Kroeger of Knoxville, TN; Anthony (Susanne) Kroeger of Dayton, OH and Jennifer Kroeger of Ontario, Canada. Loving grandfather of Addy and Anna Kroeger; Benjamin and Lucas Kroeger and Ingrid and Mia Pwu. Devoted brother of Mary Ann (Wayne) Disbro, Nancy (the late Robert) Nelson, Rick (Helen) Kroeger, John Kroeger and sister in law, Beth Ford. Also survived by many cousins and dear friends.
Dan Kroeger’s life was about dedication.
For Dan, our beloved “Poppy,” family was first and foremost. Nothing mattered more, and his dedication showed in so many ways. Poppy was generous and supportive. So many counted on him. His family will always share unforgettable vacation memories of the beach and the mountains all made possible by Poppy. He was dedicated to bringing family together.
He was dedicated to his wife, Janet to whom he was married for 49 years. He was dedicated to his children, and in the most recent years had a dedication to his grandchildren beyond words. He loved spending time with those grandchildren and they admired their Poppy more than anything in the world.
That he could be so generous and supportive was not a coincidence. Advancing at Gold Medal Products Co. from a modest sales job to President and CEO took so much dedication and sacrifice, and he forever valued his 40 years with the company. His ultimate role at Gold Medal Products Co. was something that he took very seriously – he felt a great deal of responsibility for all the employees at the company as he knew they depended on those jobs. He was dedicated to the company and its people.
Poppy loved being at home and taking care of the flowers and hummingbirds. And even more, he loved watching Cincinnati sports. Having graduated from the University of Cincinnati with a degree in Marketing in 1974, Poppy was a huge Bearcats fan. He loved all Cincinnati sports, including the Bengals and Reds. Now that takes dedication.
Poppy is now reunited in heaven with so many before him. Most notably, his parents Vera and Richard to whom he has always dedicated a place in his heart.
