Dario Luccioni

March 1, 1936- August 3, 2023

Dario Luccioni

Mr. Dario “Dary”, “Big Guy”, “Pop Pop”, “Work Ethic” Luccioni, passed away on August 3, 2023, in his own home of 51 years.  He declared there wasn’t an inch of house he hadn’t touched nor an inch of grass he hadn’t walked.  Born in Uniontown, PA to Enrico Luccioni and Anna (Smith) Luccioni, Dario recalled his formative years on Easy Street as some of the best he’d ever lived.

Dario moved to Cleveland, Ohio at age 18 and found living arrangements at the local YMCA.  It was here he met his future wife, Evalita Ann (Rhodes), who was living close by in the YWCA.  Evalita, born and raised in the Deemston Borough of PA, married Dario on August 22, 1959, resulting in a marriage union that lasted 64 years this very month.

Dario’s most enduring legacy is the family he formed:  He was a loving & devoted husband (making tea for Evalita before driving her to church), a loving, affectionate, & always present father (“Dad, we need you!!”), and a loving & goofy grandfather whose grandchildren had him wrapped around their fingers.  Dario had an affinity for keeping all his cars beautifully waxed—whether that be his Buick LeSabre or his black ’57 Chevy.  A love of music permeated his life—whether playing the tuba in his high school band, listening to singer Marty Robbins on vinyl, the Spanish guitar on YouTube videos, or living his day while humming various tunes.  A die-hard Pittsburg Steelers fan, Dario considered quarterbacks Terry Bradshaw and “Big Ben” two of his favorite people on planet Earth.

Dario is survived by wife, Evalita Luccioni, daughters, LisaMarie Luccioni and Andrea Lynn (David) Coby, daughter-in-law, Deborah Ann (Rosskopf) Luccioni and his beloved grandchildren; Lauren Marie Coby, Clayton James (Rebecca) Coby, and Caitlyn Aleksandra Coby. He was preceded in death by parents Enrico Luccioni and Anna Luccioni, and his son, David Luccioni.  He was also preceded by his special siblings: Anthony Luccioni, Don Luccioni, Bruna Luccioni, and Rebecca Luccioni. Gratitude to his niece, Anita Luccioni Mann, for her appreciated role as Luccioni family historian.

Visitation will be held August 11, 2023, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Arlington Memorial Garden Lakeside Mausoleum, 2145 Compton Road, Cincinnati, OH 45231 (Take left at entrance and follow red line to mausoleum).
