David Lee Bryant

november 17, 1948 – july 27, 2024

David Lee Bryant

We honor the creative life of David Lee Bryant, who died peacefully at home on July 27, 2024. A man whose music touched the hearts of many and whose spirit knew no bounds. Born in Ypsilanti, MI and raised in Hamilton, OH, David embraced a passion for music and songwriting from an early age nurtured by his family.

David was a loving husband of 47 years and is survived by his devoted wife, Linda Bryant (nee Kurlemann), and his brothers James “Jim” and Richard “Rick” Bryant.

David was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Dorothy May Bryant, his sister Dorothy Jean “Dot” Bryant, and his brothers Charles “Chuck” and Robert “Bob” Bryant.

After attending Garfield High School and Miami University, David embarked on a journey that led him in 1977 to Nashville, TN, and then in 1980 to Los Angeles, CA, before he finally returned to Ohio in 2020.

His songs were not just melodies; they were heartfelt stories.

From “Fingers on Some Strings”

When I was a young boy I heard a beautiful sound,
Somewhere inside my head there’s a guitar town, town,
Where the hot wire for faith and hope
Has always been a melody,
It started with some fingers on some strings.

Join us as we celebrate David’s life with a Memorial Mass at St Bernard of Clairvaux Church, 7130 Harrison Avenue, 45247 on Friday, August 9, 2024, at 10:00 am. A Procession will take place at 11:00 am, leading to a Graveside Service at Arlington Memorial Gardens, 2145 Compton Road, 45231 at 11:30 am. A Luncheon Reception will take place in the Arlington Memorial Gardens Community Center from 12noon to 2:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be directed to Hospice of Cincinnati at https://hospiceofcincinnati.org/ or Hydrocephalus Association at https://www.hydroassoc.org/.

Though David may have left this earthly realm, his music and spirit will forever echo through the music he created.
