Celebration of Life for Dawn Daugherty Evans

Dawn Daugherty Evans, age 57, passed away on April 7, 2026. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Dawn had a deep and abiding love for her family, who meant everything to her. She also had a special place in her heart for animals and all of nature. She especially loved sea turtles and found great joy in caring for the wildlife around her home. Dawn shared a special bond with her beloved orange cat, Tink, who was truly her baby. Living near the woods, she would often put food out on her back deck, welcoming visits from animals she came to know and love—especially her favorite squirrel, Freddy. She delighted in the beauty of hummingbirds, butterflies, and dragonflies, and found peace among the flowers and trees. Her gentle spirit and love for nature touched the lives of many. She is survived by her partner, Tim Stump; her son, Justin Evans; her daughter, Kristin Evans; her cherished grandchildren, Kenna and Liam; her mother, Mary Scalf; her stepfather, Harold Scalf; and her brothers, John Daugherty and Joshua Scalf. A celebration of Dawn’s life will be held on 4/24/2026 from 12 pm to 1 pm. She will be remembered for her kindness, her love of family, and the joy she found in the simple beauty of the world around her.

“We are deeply sorry for your great loss. We loved Dawn and thought the world of her. Heaven has truly gained a special Angel. The entire group of family & friends are in our continued thoughts and prayers. We rejoice in knowing through her personal testimony, that she loved Jesus with her whole being and she accepted Him as her Savior. We are also comforted in knowing without a doubt that we will be reunited in heaven one day rejoicing with her. Praise The Lord! All our love; Norm, Karen, Andy, Max, Ali & family.”
