Delmar D. Helton, beloved husband of the late Dean (nee Wilcher) Helton. Devoted dad of Bennie (Karen) Helton, Larry Helton, Ronnie (Mona) Helton, Connie (Rick) Powers, Debbie (Todd) Harpring, late Larry Fights and late Jackie Funk. Loving papa to 14 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. Dear brother Ova (late Darlene) Helton Jr., Delmas (late Pat) Helton and late Steve Cox. Delmar was known for his unwavering devotion to the Evendale First Church of God, where he found solace and strength in his deep-rooted faith. He derived great joy from worshipping alongside his fellow church members, and his genuine love and compassion touched the lives of many. Outside of his spiritual life, Delmar had a strong connection to his family. He married the love of his life, Dean Helton, with whom he enjoyed a lifetime of love and companionship. Delmar’s love for his family was immeasurable, and he took great pride in being there for them through both joyous and challenging times. In his free time, Delmar found pleasure in the simple things in life. He relished the warm summer days as he rode his bicycle, embracing the gentle breeze on his face. Delmar also had a passion for sports and was an avid supporter of the Kentucky Wildcats. His excitement and enthusiasm while cheering for his favorite team was contagious, making game days all the more memorable for those around him. Additionally, he was an enthusiastic NASCAR fan, finding excitement in the exhilarating races. One of Delmar’s favorite pastimes was meticulously tending to his yard. He would happily spend hours making sure every blade of grass was perfectly trimmed, finding solace and satisfaction in the well-tended oasis he created. Delmar D. Helton will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. He is also survived by many close friends who were touched by his kind heart and gentle spirit. Delmar will be remembered for his compassionate nature, his love for his family, his unwavering faith, and his zest for life’s simple joys. May his soul find eternal peace and may his memory live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. Del passed away on Wednesday, February 14, 2024, age 85.
