A DEATH
HAS OCCURRED
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dennis Paul Lang, affectionately known as Denny, who left us on January 13, 2026, in Rising Sun, IN. Born on August 15, 1944, in Cincinnati, OH, Denny grew up in Mt. Healthy, where he developed a lifelong love for cars that sparked a passion which he carried throughout his life. As a proud member of the Border Lords Car Club, his appreciation for Corvettes and motorcycles was nothing short of legendary.
Denny was a craftsman in mechanical drafting and design, working in the energy industry for Cincinnati Gas and Electric—a career that reflected his meticulous attention to detail and dedication. But beyond his professional accomplishments, it was his love for family and friends that truly defined him. He was a devoted husband to his beloved spouse, Jane Lang, and a nurturing father to his three daughters, Peggy Jones, Ronda McEwan, and Paula Huseman. He was cherished by his sister, Diane Waechter, and his grandchildren, Evan Cox, Aaron Cox, and Nathan Jones, who brought him such joy and pride. Denny also held a special place in his heart for his sister-in-law, Charlotte Hogeback, and his nieces and nephew—Todd Hogeback, Gayle O’Connor, Cheryl Kinney, Angel Dapore, Dawn Kelly, and Tracy Waechter—who will always remember his warmth and kind spirit.
Denny’s heart was as big as his personality. He loved music, especially the sounds of Toby Keith and George Thorogood, and you will likely remember him rocking out to “American Soldier” and “Bad to the Bone.” He was a man who wore his heart on his sleeve, and those who had the privilege of knowing him will miss his infectious spirit and love for life deeply.
We invite you to join us to celebrate Denny’s life. Visitation will take place on Friday, January 30, 2026, at 11:00 am, at the Arlington Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 2155 Compton Road, 45231 (follow the blue line upon entering the memorial park) followed by a memorial service that will honor his memory at noon. Denny will be laid to rest in the Garden of Roses.
In lieu of flowers, family asks that you make contributions to the Disabled American Veterans https://www.dav.org/.
Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Myrtle Lang, his son, John Lang and his sister-in-law, Shirley Gregory.

“I had the privilege of working with Denny in the engineering department at CG&E. He was patient and kind in helping me learn the ropes when I came to the company as a co-op. I consider myself very fortunate to have had a career working side by side with friends like Denny. My sincerest condolences to Jane and the rest of the family. John Roebel”

“Ronda, sending you so much love and my condolences. Reading about your father, I would have loved to have known him. He definitely shines through you, through your gentle and kind spirit. Your beautiful heart that connects you to the animals you rescue will keep your dad’s spirit alive, for it sounds like he had a special connection with and lovely compassion for animals as you do. Sending my love to all who knew your father and who were blessed to have him in their lives. Andrea Powis”

“I met Denny through his daughter Paula. He always was so kind and soft spoken. Later he began to come to the Bird Shoppe to help out every Monday and Tuesday. I was so glad for him being there. His smile was contagious and no matter if you were in a bad mood he could turn it around. His love for the birds there was so caring and passionate. You could catch him walking around speaking so softly to each bird. He truly was a beautiful soul. Denny you will truly be missed by many. I know I will miss you forever.”

“Denny was my first supervisor when I started my employment at CG&E (now Duke Energy). He was my favorite supervisor. NO one has ever been able to fill his shoes as a supervisor in my heart. I will truly miss his presence on this earth even though he’s been retired from the company for over 20 years.”
