Diana L. Secrist

In Loving Memory of Diana L. Secrist

Diana L. Secrist, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on December 24, 2023, in Hospice of Hamilton, Ohio, at the age of 82. Born in Cincinnati on August 21, 1941, to Earl and Loretta Jung (nee Pund). Diana was a vibrant soul who touched the lives of many around her.

Diana was a dedicated homemaker for many years, finding joy in creating a warm and loving home for her family. She had an impeccable talent for sewing and was known to create beautiful curtains and clothing with her skilled hands. Her attention to detail and passion for the craft were evident in every stitch she made.

Aside from her love for sewing, Diana adored her two feline companions, Chloe and Abby. They brought her endless companionship and comfort throughout her life. Diana’s fondness for cats demonstrated her gentle and nurturing nature.

Creating lasting friendships was another aspect that enriched Diana’s life. She cherished these connections and held onto them for years, valuing the importance of loyalty and shared experiences. Diana’s warm and caring personality made her a true friend to all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Diana took pleasure in treating herself to visits at the salon, where she enjoyed having her hair done. She also delighted in styling the hair of others, during her time as a beautician.

A lover of change and new experiences, Diana embraced the excitement of moving and living in different places. Always eager to explore new surroundings, she found joy in the adventure that each relocation brought.

In her later years, Diana could be found enjoying the soothing melodies of jazz music at the assisted living home where she dwelled. She found solace and relaxation in its soulful tunes. In the last months of her life, she shared quality time with her family reminiscing about life events.

Diana’s memory will forever be cherished by her brother Paul (Eileen) Jung, her loving sons, Jeffrey (Melissa) Feldhaus, and Michael (Gwen) Feldhaus. Her spirit will live on through her grandchildren: Cameron, Jarrett, Brayden, Bridget (Mark), Dale, Elizabeth (deceased), Rebecca (Keith), her great-grandchildren, Brianna, Kaylix and Bella, as well as extended family members and friends. She leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion that will continue to inspire and guide each of them.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, December 29, 2023, at 11:00 am at Arlington Memorial Gardens Lakeside Mausoleum Chapel, followed by a Niche side Service at 12:00 pm. A heartfelt ceremony will honor and celebrate the life of Diana L. Secrist, reflecting on the memories shared and the impact she made.

As we bid farewell to Diana, let us remember the vibrant and beautiful woman she was. May her sewing needle continue to thread the fabric of our cherished memories and may her love for cats and zest for life forever inspire us all. Rest in peace, dear Diana.

Guest Book

“Diana was my aunt by marriage to my Uncle in 1996. She was an awesome lady and her memory will be forever cherished. After my mom passed, she stepped in as the woman in my life for girl talks, shopping, lunches and so much more. I moved away in 2018 but we remained close with weekly phone calls and visits for lunch anytime I came back into Cincinnati. She will be very missed. Prayer and hugs to all the family. She was a very special lady and treasured aunt in my life.”
