It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Diane Marie Howell, who was born on February 4, 1941, in Cincinnati, Ohio and peacefully passed away on June 17, 2025 at the age of 84. Diane, was the cherished daughter of the late Harry and late Anelda Waters, she was a beacon of light and love and will be profoundly missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Diane was the beloved wife of Robert Lee Howell for nearly 68 wonderful years. Together, they created a nurturing and warm home for their two children: Bruce (Darnell) Howell and the late Bob (Ella) Howell. As a loving grandmother, Diane took immense joy in her grandchildren: Joey (Carrie) Sprague, Jenni (David) Donnelly, late Jessi (Leonard) Goldenstein, Jonny (Amy) Howell, Josh (Julia) Howell, and Jillian (Chris) Sprague. She was also the cherished great-grandmother to Cameron, Emma, Andrew, Jadon, Luke, Liam, Corbin, Avery, Theo, Charlee, Brody, Easton, and Edward. She was the dear sister of Mike (Betty) Waters, Judy Gresham, and the late David (Mary) Waters. Diane’s family will forever hold her memory in their hearts, filled with stories of love, laughter, and shared moments that will continue to inspire generations.

Diane touched the lives of many with her unyielding spirit and zest for life. She loved to go fishing, spend time in her garden, and enjoyed the thrill of a day at the casino. She loved sharing delicious meals with her family as her joy was very visible when baking birthday cakes for her children and grandchildren. The warmth she brought to every gathering and the laughter shared in her presence will echo in the hearts of her family and friends.

To honor Diane’s life and legacy, funeral services will be held at Frederick Funeral Home, 2553 Banning Rd, Cincinnati, OH 45239 on June 24, 2025. A visitation will take place at 10:00 am, followed by the funeral service at 11:00 am. All are welcome to gather and celebrate a remarkable woman whose impact will resonate for years to come. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorials be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America (AFA), 322 Eighth Avenue, 16th Floor New York, NY 10001in Diane’s honor, as a reflection of her caring spirit. As we reflect on Diane’s life, we celebrate the love she brought into this world and the countless cherished memories she leaves behind. She will always be remembered for her unwavering kindness and her ability to make every gathering a celebration.
