Obituary via Hodapp Funeral Home
Survived by her beloved husband Don Dumford of 21 years and preceded in death by her first husband, Howard Lighthall (d. 1981)
Loving mother of Steve (Robin) Lighthall and Linda (Jerry) Ruschau.
Cherished grandmother of Stephanie (Scott) Ober, Leslie (Cliff) Cowan, Alex (Rachel) Ruschau, Max Ruschau and the late Adam Lighthall. Great grandmother of Summer Lynn, Mya, Joshua, Logan, Olivia, Brody, Sophia, Luke, Braxton, and Finley. Beloved sister to 6 wonderful siblings who all preceded her in heaven.
Dorothy passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 6, 2025 at the age of 95.
Mom, Dottie, Grandma, Aunt Dot, Mama Lighthall – never met a stranger, and always had a smile on her face. She loved to laugh and shared her light with everyone who knew her. Dorothy loved her family, and they all adored her. She and Don spent years together as gifted dancers, traveling and soaking up the Florida sunshine. Don was not only a loving husband, but a devoted caretaker in her final years. We will miss her terribly but are blessed beyond measure to have known her and felt her love.
Visitation will be held at Journey Community Church (previously St. Paul United Church of Christ) 6997 Hamilton Ave, Cincinnati, OH 45231 on Thursday, February 20th from 10am until 12pm, service immediately following, with a Christian Burial at Arlington Memorial Gardens.
