Dorothy M. Stanley, 92, entered into the presence of our Lord & Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, March 29, 2025 at Provisions Living of West Clermont, in Batavia, Ohio. Dorothy was born on September 18, 1932 in Coeburn, Virginia, daughter of the late Andrew Jackson Hughes & Fannie Kate (Hicks)Hughes. She was the 2nd born of 8 children. She worked various jobs throughout her life; however, her most important roles were as a wife, mother, and grandmother. Shortly after she & Don accepted Jesus Christ as their personal Savior, she stood behind Don when he felt called to full time ministry. She stood behind as Don served nearly 30 years total as Pastor at Welcome Baptist Church in Goshen, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Don, of nearly 65 years. She was also proceeded in death by son, Gary Stanley, and daughter, Cathy Stanley, granddaughter, Brandy Stanley besides her parents & siblings: Eugene Hughes, Bobby Hughes, Andrew Hughes, and Jackie Sarrategui. Survived by sons Ricky Stanley, Robert (Maxine) Stanley, and daughter, Tammy (Alan) Bruce. She is further survived by several grandchildren, Scott Frye, Brian Bray, Matthew Bray, Robert “Lee” (Lara) Stanley II, Ryan Lay, Jonathan (Kelli) Stanley, Ashley (John) Jamison, Andrew (Jamie) Lay, Megan (Todd) Muth, and 17 great grandchildren. She is also survived by siblings: Kay Horton, Clifford “Butchy” Hughes & Theodore Hughes. Visitation/Services will be held at Evan’s Funeral Home 741 Center Street Milford, Ohio on Friday April 4, 2025, at 9:00AM until time of services at 10:30AM with her son, Pastor Rob Stanley (Pleasant Green Baptist Church) officiating along with internment at Arlington Memorial Gardens; 2145 Compton Rd, Cincinnati, OH. The family extends special thanks to everyone at Provisions Living at West Clermont, and Suncrest Hospice for all the love and care shown to mom and our family. We will be forever grateful for their support.
