E. Thomas Salzman of Cincinnati, Ohio age 91 passed away peacefully on Friday, October 27, 2023.  He was born on February 20, 1932 to William and Claire (Zimmer) Salzman.  Tom graduated from Roger Bacon High School in 1950.  On February 23, 1952, he married his high school sweetheart Norma Joy Robinson.  They were married for 68 years.  After serving in the United States Army during the Korean War, Tom was employed at General Electric in Evendale as a maintenance mechanic for 40 years.  He was a member of the American Legion Post #530 in Greenhills.  Serving as a mentor for Boy Scout Troop 640 was one of his most rewarding experiences.  Tom thrived on spending many hours working outside in the yard, remodeling, or fixing whatever needed repair.  Enthusiastic travelers, he and Norma were members of Tri-State Travelers.  Many miles and countless hours were enjoyed in their motor home visiting friends and sight-seeing.  His children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were the highlight of his life.  Tom is survived by his devoted son E. Thomas Salzman, Jr. (Cheryl); eight grandchildren Emily (Zack) Brinkman, Matthew Salzman, Christopher Schaiper, Angela (Brian) Hollingsworth, Brandon (Courtney) Schaiper, Russell (Christin) Salzman II, Grace (Andrew) Meyer and Chelsea Salzman; as well as eleven great-grandchildren Allison, Christopher Jr., Bradley, Brody, Adalynn, Charli, Charlotte, Hannah, Francesca, Ozzie, and Morgan.  In addition, he is survived by his brother Jack (Norma) Salzman, son-in-law Robert Schaiper, daughter-in-law Paula Salzman, and many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother William, his wife Norma, and his children Victoria Schaiper and Russell Salzman.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 4, 2023 from 10:00 am until the time of the Funeral Service at 12 pm at Charles C. Young Funeral Home, 4032 Hamilton-Cleves Road, Ross, Ohio.  Rev. Valerie Waibel-Mullaney will officiate.  Entombment will follow at Arlington Memorial Gardens.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Rita School for the Deaf, 1720 Glendale-Milford Road, Cincinnati, OH  45215 or Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, 3333 Burnet Avenue, Cincinnati, OH  45229.
