Edward William Fischer, Jr. passed away on Friday, September 8, 2023. He was born to the late Sue and Edward W. Fischer, Sr. on April 2, 1945, in Cincinnati, Ohio. Ed was the loving father of “Little Ed” (Daphne) and Lanelle Fischer; cherished grandfather Sophia and Sydnie Fischer; dear brother of Sandy (Bud) Jenkins and the late John Fischer; and treasured uncle of Ben (Lauren), Tom (Emily) and Skip (Lindsey) Jenkins.
Ed proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War as a paratrooper. He continued his dedication to service throughout his career beginning as a volunteer firefighter with Mack Fire Department and later a paramedic. In his final calling, he joined the forces of Green Township as a police officer.
In his free time Ed enjoyed hunting, bowling, and sharing drinks and camaraderie with his friends. He also enjoyed making time for the Cincinnati sports teams whether rooting for them or complaining about them. Above all, Ed’s favorite pastime was drag racing. There will never be another like Ed, and he will be missed deeply by all who were lucky enough to have known him.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 15th from 11:00am until time of Sharing of Memories Service (please come with a memory to share) at 1:00pm, both at Mihovk-Rosenacker Funeral Home, 5527 Cheviot Rd. (45247). In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Wounded Warrior Project.
