Ellen Marie Rember

Ellen Marie Rember nee Doggett passed away Wednesday, July 31, 2024 at the age of 96 in Inova Hospital in Falls Church, VA. The daughter of Forrest and Marie Doggett nee Kaiser, she is survived by her brother, Frank Doggett; 3 grandchildren, Andrew Rember (Abigail), Jonathan Rember (Sara), and Katherine Achor (Nathanael); and 8 great grandchildren, Victoria Marie and Anne Rember, James, Lydia, and Nora Rember, and William, Elijah, and Emily Achor. She was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Doggett; husband, William L. Rember; and son, William Bruce Rember.

Ellen was born in Madison, WI, but spent most of her life in Cincinnati, moving to Virginia to be with family toward the end of her life. She earned her BSEd from the University of Cincinnati and her MS from the Ohio State University. Pursuing a career in food science and dietetics, she became an Associate Professor at the University of Cincinnati. She was a member of Covenant-First Presbyterian Church, 50+ year member of the American Dietetic Association, lifetime member of the Cincinnati Women’s Club, and member of the UC College Club. Ellen was a faithful follower of Christ, skilled pianist, global traveler, devoted wife, and doting mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Visitation will take place Monday, August 12, 5-6pm at the Arlington Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 2155 Compton Road 45231. Once on the grounds of the memorial park, turn LEFT and follow the BLUE line to the funeral home.

Funeral service will be Tuesday, August 13, 10:30 am at Covenant-First Presbyterian Church, 717 Elm St, Cincinnati, OH 45202, followed by interment at Arlington Memorial Gardens.
