A DEATH
HAS OCCURRED
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved matriarch, Elsie Mae Blodgett, who left us on October 7, 2026, in her home in Fairfield, OH, at the age of 91. Born on January 1, 1935, in Decatur, IN, Elsie lived a life full of love, laughter, and cherished memories.
Elsie was a devoted homemaker who dedicated herself to her family, nurturing each of her children and grandchildren with warmth and unwavering support. She is survived by her children: Janet, Walter, Barbara, Fred, Paul (Donna), and Wendy, as well as her dear brothers Bud and Roger Hunter and sister Helen Hunter. Her legacy will live on through them, and the many family recipes she lovingly passed down – traditions that will be cherished for generations.
A passionate gardener Elsie found joy in cultivating her garden, which was as vibrant and nurturing as her spirit. She also delighted in attending church socials, where she shared her talents and created lifelong friendships. Traveling with her late husband after his retirement, she explored all 49 states, making memories that she fondly reflected on throughout her life.
We invite family and friends to celebrate the incredible life of Elsie Mae Blodgett at her funeral services. A visitation will take place at Arlington Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Monday, October 12, 2026, from 12:00 PM, followed by the funeral service at 12:30 PM, leading us to a graveside service at Arlington Memorial Gardens in the Garden of Restoration.
Join us as we honor this remarkable woman whose love and laughter touched all who knew her. Your presence will mean the world to us as we say our final goodbyes and celebrate the beautiful life she lived.
Rest in peace, Elsie Mae Blodgett. Your love will forever be our guiding light.
Elsie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Paul Blodgett, her parents, Andrew and Florine Hunter, and her dear sister, Sandy Hunter.
