Dalbert Woodruff & Isenogle Funeral Home is assisting the Family

Obituary via Dalbert Woodruff & Isenogle Funeral Home

Emma L. Emig, born on November 24, 1930, in Cincinnati, Ohio, departed this world on March 11, 2025, at the Twin Towers Senior Living Community.

She is survived by her loving daughter, Trina Emig, and her brother, William Fleissner Jr. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Charles P. Emig Jr., and her brother, Walter Fleissner.

After attending high school in North College Hill, she attended secretarial school in Northside, studying typing and shorthand. She learned sewing from her mother, who was a professional tailor. Her first job was a seamstress at Fashion Frocks sewing men’s ties. She then worked as a secretary for several engineers at Cleveland Wrecking and later at Western Union in the Carew Tower in downtown Cincinnati. She had her first and only child, Trina, when she was 39 and became a full-time mom after that.

She met her husband Charles at an Eagles dance. They were married on Valentine’s Day after 6 months of dating. After retirement Charles and Emma enjoyed traveling, including 13 cruises to the Caribbean, Hawaii, and Cozumel. When Charles’ health began to fail, Emma cared for him until his death in 2014. They were married for over 60 years.

In 2014, Emma moved into Twin Towers retirement community where she made new friends and was able to spend time with her brother William Fleissner who also resided there.

Her hobbies included crafts, square dancing, playing the piano, feeding birds, clogging, and attending garage sales with her daughter. She also found immense joy in attending her daughter’s musical performances.

A visitation will be held on March 15, 2025, from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM, followed by a funeral service at 1:30 PM, both taking place at Twin Towers Chapel, located at 5343 Hamilton Ave, Cincinnati, OH 45224. Emma L. Emig was known to be timid, soft, and gentle. She will be remembered fondly by all who knew her.
