Francis R. Boetger

August 8, 1927 – july 29, 2025

Francis R. Boetger

Francis R. Boetger, a beloved father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend, passed away on July 29, 2025, just shy of his 98th birthday. Born on August 8, 1927, in Chicago, Illinois, Francis lived a life filled with service, love, and an unshakeable spirit. A proud World War II veteran, he served in the U.S. Navy as a Seaman First Class, a time that shaped his character and instilled in him the values of hard work and dedication.

For 40 years, Francis poured his heart into his role as a floor supervisor at Ford, earning respect as someone who believed in putting in the hours—often seven days a week. His love for cars was only matched by his passion for family, and he could always be found cheering on his children at their school sports events, embodying the unwavering support that defined his role as a team dad.

Francis’s hobbies were a patchwork of joy: from his fascination with trains and Lionel sets to his unwavering enthusiasm for watching his beloved Cincinnati Reds, often three times a day. He cherished summers spent cooking out with family and friends, and the festive season was always marked by his elaborate Christmas decorations, where he transformed his home with lights, inside and out, creating a magical atmosphere for all.

His love for adventure took his family on memorable camping trips, from the golden coasts of California to the stunning sights of Niagara Falls, and even flavors of Mexico. Through it all, Hugo, his loyal buddy, was often by his side, sharing in the many stories and laughter that filled his life.

Francis is survived by his son, Mike Boetger, and daughter Lisa Pfeiffer, son-in-law Timothy Patrick, along with daughter-in-law Diane Boetger. He also will be greatly missed by his grandchildren, Tracy Bloom, Tina Patrick, Sam Patrick, Rebecca Pfeiffer, Nikki Boetger and Mandie Gambrel, his great grandchildren, Robbie Bloom, Hunter Bloom, and Joey Gambrel. He left behind memories that warmed the hearts of those who knew him.

Francis was preceded in death by his parents, Bruno and Ruth Boetger (nee Dane), his loving wife Martha Boetger, his son Marc Boetger and daughter Denise Patrick.

Family and friends are invited to gather for a Celebration of Life at the Arlington Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 2155 Compton Road, 45231, on Friday, August 8, 2025. Visitation at 12:30 PM, with a service beginning at 2:00 PM. Francis will be laid to rest in the Garden of Restoration.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Francis’ life to Hospice of Cincinnati https://hospiceofcincinnati.org/donate/.

As we come together to celebrate Francis’s remarkable life, let us remember him not only for his accomplishments but for the love and joy he brought to all of our lives. Rest in peace, dear Francis, and thank you for the countless memories that will forever remain in our hearts.
