Gael M. Gruenwald

Gael Marie Gruenwald (née Grogan), 68, of Hebron, KY passed away May 28, 2023, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.  

Gael was born February 27, 1955, in Cincinnati, OH to the late Harry and Evelyn Grogan (nee Hudson). She was a 1973 graduate of Colerain High School, a 2000 graduate of Cincinnati State and a dedicated employee of Olympic Auto Park. 

Gael will be missed greatly by her husband of 48 years, Peter Gruenwald; daughters Amy Merz and Jenni Gruenwald; grandchildren Maisie, Max and Mattie Merz and Goose and Maverick Gruenwald.  She leaves behind a large family including Chris Reynolds, Mark (Pam) Gruenwald, Greg (Nancy) Gruenwald, Tim (Lori) Gruenwald, Rae (Chris) Nogueira, Kathy Grogan and Pat (Tracy) Grogan along with countless beloved nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and lifelong friends she considered family. Along with her parents, Gael was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Mackenzie Merz and her most adored canine companion, Rudy.

Visitation will be held Friday, June 2, 2023, from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM at The Arlington Memorial Gardens Funeral Home (2155 Compton Road, Cincinnati OH 45231- follow the blue line to the left when you enter the cemetery gates). Mass of Christian burial will be held for Gael on Saturday, June 3, 2023, from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church (9375 Winton Road, Cincinnati, OH 45231). Following mass, she will be laid to rest in the Garden of Nativity at Arlington Memorial Gardens (2145 Compton Road, Cincinnati, OH 45231). Gael has requested everyone wear casual attire.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to pancreatic cancer research or St. Elizabeth Hospice.  

Let us hold dear the memories of Gael as we celebrate her life and the impact, she made on all who had the privilege of knowing her.
