A DEATH
HAS OCCURRED
Helen Huss, a beloved mother, grandmother, and cherished friend, passed away on July 27, 2025, at the age of 88. Born on July 10, 1937, in Cincinnati, Ohio, Helen lived a vibrant life filled with love, laughter, and a passion for family.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents, Mathias and Marie Tomsitz, her loving husband, Jerry Huss, her brother Michael (Virginia) Tomsitz and her father-in-law Max (Lorine) Huss.
Helen dedicated much of her professional life in purchasing safety equipment at the Fernald facility, and in customer service at Lodge & Shipley, where she made significant contributions during her tenure. Yet, her true calling was as a devoted mother to her son, Jay Huss, and her daughter, Jennifer Davisson. She was a source of unwavering support and love for her children, always actively involved in their lives, from kindergarten to senior year always emphasizing scholastic achievement, along with her husband emphasizing music. A guiding light at every step, Helen helped Jennifer with her wedding planning, creating lasting memories infused with joy and laughter.
A proud and playful Nana, Helen cherished her grandchildren, Savannah and Cameron Davisson. With a sparkle in her eyes, she delighted in their company, taking them to parks and nature centers, where she found joy in birdwatching and spending time with wildlife. Her nurturing spirit shone through in every laugh shared with Cameron and every shopping trip with Savannah, who both had the special ability to make their Nana smile.
Helen found great joy in the simple pleasures of life—immersing herself in the pages of romance novels and travel books, dreaming of places to explore. She loved to travel, not just for the adventures but to learn about new cultures and experiences. Music filled her home, with the voices of Charlotte Church, Josh Groban, Celine Dion, and Adele offering a soundtrack to her life. Christmas was a highlight of the year, filled with family gatherings, delicious meals, and heartfelt moments that echoed her love for those around her. Her signature side dishes were a hit among family members, who looked forward to Helen’s culinary delights during the festive season.
Helen was also a dog lover, frequently enjoying playful moments with Marley, her daughter’s dog, and finding joy in the small, everyday experiences, like watching deer from her enclosed porch or enjoying her favorite TV dramas.
As we remember Helen, let us celebrate the beautiful life she led, filled with compassion, warmth, and unforgettable memories.

“In memory of Helen…I knew she was very special when Cousin Jerry introduced her to our family so many years ago. She was a perfect fit for him. He was constantly on the go with ideas and energy while she quietly interjected her ideas and opinions. In other words, they balanced each other out. Helen was grounded and I always enjoyed her company. I was honored when they asked me to be a bridesmaid in their wedding. Both were good parents in different ways but they both were totally together with their dedication to their children. May she rest in peace after a long and beautiful life.”
