Iris L. Green

February 23, 1932 – February 26, 2025

Iris L. Green

Iris L. Green, a beloved mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully on February 26, 2025, at the age of 93, in Cincinnati, Ohio. Born on February 23, 1932, Iris lived a life rich with love, laughter, and cherished memories.

Iris was the heart of her family. She was married for nearly 60 wonderful years to the love of her life, the late Billy Green. Together, they created a warm and nurturing home where Iris’s generous spirit flourished. As a dedicated housewife, she embraced her role with joy, often preparing for her famous Christmas parties months in advance, filling her home with laughter, holiday cheer, and an abundance of delicious food.

She was an avid lover of arts and culture, often found enjoying movies, and theater productions, and luncheons with friends. Iris enjoyed playing bridge and attending neighborhood parties, especially the 4th of July celebration.

A proud mother to her son, Mike, and a loving grandmother to Ashley and Ryan Green, Iris treasured the moments spent babysitting her grandchildren when they were young. Ice cream runs with her son and neighborhood kids were a sweet highlight of their time together. Iris loved spending time with her friends. She had a knack for brightening lives with her thoughtful handwritten notes, encouraging letters, and beautifully penned cards that reflected her care and compassion.

Iris was known for her love of animals, especially cats.  She had many cats as pets and a large cat figurine collection.  Throughout her life, Iris accumulated a collection of glass figurines and had a passion for reading.  Her love for sweets was well-known among family and friends. Iris could often be found in her favorite colors—purple, pink, and turquoise—bringing vibrancy and joy wherever she went.

Iris is survived by her loving son, Michael (Amy), and her dear grandchildren, Ashley and Ryan. Her niece Connie (Glenn) Miles, as well as extended family and friends. Her kindness, warmth, and friendship will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure to know her.

In celebration of Iris’s beautiful life, services will be held at the Arlington Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 5, 2025. Visitation at 11:00 AM – 12:30 PM. Service at 12:30 PM – 1:00 PM. Burial to immediately follow in the Garden of Restoration. Friends and family are invited to come together to honor a remarkable woman whose spirit touched so many.
