Jack F. Chard

Jack Chard, age 85, passed away on April 7, 2023.

Jack was born in Cincinnati, Ohio to James Chard and Virginia Chard. Jack married Carol Jenkins of Cincinnati, Ohio on June 16, 1961.

Jack is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Carol Chard, his children, Scott Chard, Tina (Gordon) Grubbs, and Jack (Jill) Chard; his grandchildren, Joshua (Abbey) Grubbs, Jacob Grubbs, Joel (Marissa Malone) Grubbs, Josey Grubbs, Jonah Grubbs, Justin (Alyssa) Chard, Jordan (Tyler) Vogelpohl, Brian Chard, Kevin Chard, and Kaitlyn Chard; his great grandchildren, Madelyn Grubbs, Joel Grubbs, Jr., Kennedi Grubbs, Trey Grubbs, Finley Chard, and his brother Kenneth (Joyce) Chard.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Judy (Skip) Abbott.

Jack was a loving husband and father who loved spending time outdoors and being with his family. This included going to his parents and in law’s campgrounds along the Great Miami River and later to the farm in Indiana. He had a passion for deer hunting with coworkers. He was incredibly involved in supporting his kids in exploring different sports and was an active coach in baseball and basketball. His passion for the game of golf was introduced to his two sons early in life who continue to play today. Even though his work required him to change shifts on a regular basis, he made sure to attend his daughters dance recitals. He enjoyed his Saturday evenings with Tina watching Hee-Haw and Lawrence Welk. He loved going on vacations with his wife and other family members to places that would involve outdoor activities such as fishing for pike in Canada, tent camping, boating, fishing at Brookville Lake, Niagara Falls, sitting on the beach, or visiting Washington D.C. He had a passion for the Cincinnati Reds and Bengals. He rarely ever missed a game and loved rooting for them. His true love was for his family. His eyes lit up when his kids, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and family visited.
