Frederick Funeral Home is assisting the Family

Obituary via Frederick Funeral Home

In loving memory of Jacqueline S. Huff, who passed away peacefully on December 20, 2024, at the age of 79. Born on April 7, 1945, Jackie was a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend. She is reunited in eternal peace with her beloved husband, Joseph I. Huff, who predeceased her on June 21, 2018, and her eldest son, Robert “Bob” J. (Peggy) Huff, who left this world on August 27, 2013. Jackie was a devoted mother to William “Bill” Huff and Bonnie (Greg) Schmeusser, and is missed dearly by her surviving family, including her grandchildren Carrie (Jarrod) Reed, David Salazar, Tyler (Carmen) Huff, Ashley Wade, Faith Huff, Matthew Huff, Sydney (Matthew) Clary, and Nathan (Hannah Schloemer) Schmeusser.  She was a proud great-grandmother to Curtis Brockman, Micah and Zariah Reed, and Landon Balch, Ava Wade, Sophia Clary and Sadie Clary. She is also, survived by many loving nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

Jackie was a woman of many passions. Each spring, she could be found tending to her flourishing garden and nurturing the flowers that brought her so much joy. A lifelong lover of the Cincinnati Reds, she eagerly anticipated each baseball season, cheering on her team with unwavering loyalty. Her mornings were often spent as an avid mall walker at North Gate Mall, where she cultivated friendships that warmed her heart.

She was not only a garden enthusiast and sports fan but also an exceptional baker. Jackie’s cookies and her famous “miracle pie” were staples at family gatherings and luncheons with her friends from Curves and American Greetings. She delighted in sharing these treats, especially during her weekly visits to North College Hill Bakery for their “Crazy Thursday Special.”

Despite the heartache of losing her beloved son Bob, cherished husband Joe, and her dear siblings—Mike Fisher, Debbie Fisher, Jerry Fisher, and Judie Huber—Jackie’s resilience shone brightly. While she grieved the losses that touch her deeply, she continually found solace in family and the little joys of life. Her love for her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family, and lifelong friends was a guiding light throughout her life.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Jackie’s life and legacy on December 27, 2024. Visitation will be held at Frederick Funeral Home from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM, followed by a funeral service at 1:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests memorials be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 6704 Hagerstown, MD 21741 as a tribute to Jackie’s compassionate spirit. Jackie’s spirit will remain alive in the hearts of all who loved her. As we gather to share in our memories and stories, we remember her as a beacon of love, laughter, and unwavering devotion to her family and friends. She will be greatly missed but forever cherished.
